Reptilia Canada’s Largest Venomous Snake

On December 15th, Reptilia’s new king cobra went on display for the public. He was officially measured at an event for our Annual Members on December 14th and documented in the National Post at 13 feet 1 inch in length. Reptilia now has the largest crocodile in Canada and the largest venomous snake.

Another Video from my Volunteer trip. A bunch of us from work went to the Everglades outpost to help them clean up, and got a special snake show as thanks. I was in the front row for this. I never thought I would ever be that close to a King Cobra!!

King Cobras venom, which is composed mostly of proteins and polypeptides, is produced in specialized salivary glands as is the case with all venomous reptiles just behind the animals eyes.

There are other venomous snakes within this species range, in fact, that are responsible for more fatal snake bites than the King Cobra, such as the Monocled Cobra, Russells Viper and Banded Krait.
