Our Sulcata tortoise, Link, is quite the daredevil! Don’t worry, he wasn’t hurt. He’ll do this repeatedly if we keep him on that small box (it’s only about 4 or 5 inches high). I think it’s pretty clever how he does a side-flip, because landing face first wouldn’t be very pleasant. 
Time to go back to the wild. A special release knot replaces the electrical tape around his snout and with a quick pull he’s free to go.
These populations have become established in three countries.
