This is Esteban Vallejo, and I am his number one lady…Esteban actually in an African Sulcata Tortoise, he is almost three years old. Also known as Thigh Spur Tortoise, he is part of the second largest species of land tortoises. By the time he is 35 he will be about 30″ wide. Right now, Esteban is about the size of a tea saucer. This is just a little commentary on him.
Given their large size, sulcatas are most easily kept out of doors, but should not overnight outside when the temperatures drop below 60 degrees Fahrenheit.
