Stand-off VIDEO

Fatty, a juvenile Nile crocodile, was basking on the shore of Pete’s Pond in Botswana when a herd of elephants came to drink. Fatty refused to give up his spot. Most elephants decided to ignore him, but one youngster decided to chase him off. Fatty refused to be chased and the youngster retreated behind mom. As seen on National Geographic’s WildCam Africa. (Fatty never did give up his spot this time.)

Corn snake strike eating mouse

This is our 43″ corn snake Kaa constricting a mouse. He usually eats frozen mice, but they didn’t have any at the pet store this time.

Corn snakes are very good at climbing, squeezing out of very small holes, and can also use their bodies to push the screen top off of a poorly-fitted aquarium, or push a temporarily-placed top off a feeding container.

Taj is a young Argentine Black and White Tegu. He is about 11 months old at this point. Here he is getting some superworms for breakfast.

Additionally, some Argentines have been trained to use litter boxes.
