One of my African Clawed Frogs chompin’ down on some beefheart. What a cute fat little fart! It is found in Angola, Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Republic of the Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa, Sudan, Swaziland, Tanzania, Togo, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
This is one of the males I was able to save from a cruel painfull death from a local Asian Market. They keep Frogs in a Waterless,Crowded tank & force them into hibernation. During this time the Ecoli present in the tank gets inside the Frogs sores that are acquired while in transport(shoved in cardboard boxes).This is One eyed Jack & unfortunately he lost an eye while in captivity. Hes very affectionate which is probably hard to imagine(in more ways than one you will see). He will crawl out of the pond we built & sit on my foot until I pick him up & hold him”Very Unusual”He has mated twice with the same Female this Spring/Summer & I guess thats just not enough!. He will clutch my wrist or fingers when I stick them in the water. I then vibrate/move my hand up & down.He thinks its a Female Frog dispursing her eggs(or a good substitute haha).He also will Growl & we are going to try to obtain another video so you can hear it(this is not something you would hear in person due to the fact frogs will not mate with an audience!).Anyways enjoy the video,Lucci
