Pitcher Plants Eating Dinner

I have constructed a small bog in the R & R Eastern Box Turtle rehabilitation enclosure. Several pitcher plants–a type of carnivorous plant–grow in the bog along the edge of the small pond. These pitcher plants “eat” insects of all kinds. This video describes how pitcher plants can “eat” animals without ever moving a “muscle” like the more famous Venus Flytrap does.

Indiana and other states have laws against collecting the turtles from the wild.
