This is Squirtle a few days after we took her to the vet. ^^ They gave her a Vitamin A shot, and she seems to be doing a LOT better. ^^ Squirtle is the one in the front, and Flippers is the one in the back. ^^
They are almost entirely aquatic, but do leave the water to bask in the sun and lay eggs.

The teeth are situated on the inner sides of the jawbones which is why they are hard to see in smaller specimens.
Just a few pictures I’ve taken during the last couple of years.
They do have enlarged teeth in the back of their mouth, but unlike many rear-fanged colubrid snakes, garter snakes do not have a groove running down the length of the teeth that would allow it to inject venom into its prey.
Her name is Lisa, and she is super cute. This is when I first got her and the tank was completely barren. Now there is stuff in it like plants etc. See my video ‘Turtle Adventures’ to see how the tank is decorated currently.
